Live v3.0.0

By RAWR-Designs, 21 Jul 2009, 17:28 GMT

Another template for HFS, Live is a template originally designed by Alvaro "Chrno" Quezada. Soon after the release of its second version the author became too busy to manage the monster of a template he had created. We watched as the template went from being epic... to fail. 2 years later, we decided to take the reigns and make a RAWR-Designs version of the template. We would make it lighter, easier to manage, more accessible to everyday users. So we emailed Alvaro on every possible address we could find, and a few days later he replied.

Live 3 is born. The template is most likely one of the first HFS templates to not use <table/> markup. It is completely designed using CSS and DIV's, showing off some of the knowledge the team has gained over the years. The template features the same custom icons, look and feel, that the old template had. However it is now easier to manage. This Microsoft inspired template should make any HFS look the piece.

I want to put media player to the hfs..i try this code but the problem is, is restart the song if u click on any folder. its like the whole html page is re-read. help me..

Hey,

The default behavior of templates when you click a different folder is to refresh the entire page, and in your situation reset the media player. A possible solution, and the only one i can think of, for you would be to place the media player in a popup window. As this window will not refresh if you click another folder.

I have a problem, I can't insert my image emblem to my HFS template interface.

If you mean the header logo, replace the header_logo.gif with your own file. If you need to change the filetype, edit the .css file for your theme.

Will the RAWR-Player ever be able to run in this template?

Reply from: Chris, 30 Jul 2009, 21:08 GMT

It is planned to be implemented in the future, the template had to start somewhere :)

Thank you for this great template! You have done a very good work. A question: How to configure the template to have file delete option? I'm missing this important feature.

Thanks!

Reply from: Chris, 25 Aug 2009, 10:41 GMT

This template currently does not support delete by default, however there is a modification posted on the forum. We will be making an admin panel to handle such tasks for all of our templates.

When Can we be expecting the new version of live with a built in admin panel and the RAWR-Player to be released...it sounds amazing..

Maybe one day, Richard has disappeared, I am trying to get in contact with him. I might work on some more updates once I have recovered, I just started working, trying to save up some cash.

could you please make the live template work with the same thumbnail system as the other templates? (this one is laggy if you enter a folder with lots of images)

Reply from: Chris, 19 Oct 2009, 04:41 GMT

Use our generator to generate thumbnails, it will automatically use the generated thumbnails instead of the original image.

It was designed this way as a legacy feature for old Live users.

How do you use this? I can access the "edit template" then what do i do? Sorry kinda new to this.

Reply from: Chris, 19 Oct 2009, 04:41 GMT

Simply import the .tpl file and it should automatically install the template, ready to use. Try the latest beta if it doesn't do this automatically.

Folks,

The Live template is really appealing and easy to use. The only thing I miss are the administration options. I'll be eagerly waiting for that feature to come along.

If I may suggest for a future release is to have different icon options on top of the themes.

And also, add an ajax searching message (like a progress indicator and searching....), cause the search just looks like it is not working when you search for stuff

I know this takes a lot of work and I congratulate you on your awesome work. I was developing my own template but gave up when I saw yours!

Keep it up!

Thank you for the great comment!

We agree with most of the comments here, it needs RAWR-Player and all of templates need an Administration Tool set. We also believe a better Upload solution is a priority.

At the moment, we're waiting for HFS a little bit... and giving ourselves some time, we both have jobs now so work on this project is extremely intermittent. But we hope to support everything by sometime early next year.

Is there a delete option in the template?

Reply from: Chris, 14 Jan 2010, 18:02 GMT

Not at the moment but as stated before here, there is a mod on the forum that can achieve it.

Hi,
I would like to know how can I change the template theme.

Reply from: Chris, 24 Feb 2010, 13:58 GMT

Open the .tpl file in a text editor (notepad) and change theme=blue to either red or black.
