RAWR-Designs

RAWR-Designs is a website and project team formed by Richard Tuininga and I. Our combined skills allow us to make high quality applications to support a program known as HFS. For more information about the RAWR-Designs team checkout the online profile.

As the team makes its mark on the community, the website evolves depending on its needs. During early 2009 a new website was designed from scratch. This new website is a community based website where users can comment on projects, download various builds and of course donate to keep our web hosting online.

Challenge:
To create a dynamic PHP website with our limited experience using PHP. It had to use a MySQL database and handle many variables. The new website would be community based with the eventual ability to post comments, post projects and register accounts. A forum would be created and placed within the website.

Solution:
For security and organisational purposes we used the Smarty template engine to seperate PHP from HTML. From this we were able to implement the CSS and HTML that I had created into various sections. Using a mixture of technologies we were able to create a community website within a few weeks.
