Bluecube

For the final university project, Video Media Pro approached the university with a large task to create the Global Village website. Our project team was assigned the task. Global Village is an international network of language schools. We were asked to create a new website for them. The website is currently not online. This is due to the client wanting some changes after the handover to VMP.

The client wanted pretty much every ’Web 2.0’ technology employed into the new website. Due to time constraints, a new site-map was designed to narrow down the website and achieve what the client was after. MODx CMS, Simple Machines Forum and some Bluecube created MODx plug-ins were put into the website to achieve the desired result.

Challenge:
For this project I was part of the design team. This meant that I designed the group logo, group website, and assisted in the design work for the project website. The main challenge for this project was getting used to the routines of a team based environment and dealing with Content Management Systems.

Solution:
As configuration manager I used the group website and email account to monitor all version histories. The project website was completed as a team, however I wrote the xHTML and CSS for the website, essentially I created the CMS templates from provided examples.
